UN CERTIFIED

Transporting hazardous goods, whether domestically or internationally, is strictly regulated by the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods. These regulations are designed to prevent accidents and minimize environmental damage.

At Six Star Bulk Bag, we design, produce, and rigorously test our products to ensure full compliance with UN regulations. Our products undergo initial testing in our state-of-the-art, comprehensive testing laboratories and are then officially certified by independent international test houses. These test results form the basis for issuing a unique UN number and providing certification to our customers.

Six Essential Tests for UN Certification:

  1. Top Lift Test:

    • The FIBC is loaded with six times its maximum load capacity.

  2. Drop Test:

    • Depending on the packaging group, the FIBC filled with the maximum load is dropped upright from a height of 80 cm or 120 cm.

  3. Topple Test:

    • Depending on the packaging group, the FIBC filled with the maximum load is toppled from a height of 80 cm or 120 cm.

  4. Righting Test:

    • After being toppled, the FIBC filled with the maximum load is lifted to an upright position using one or two loops.

  5. Tear Test:

    • A 100 mm tear is made on one side of the FIBC filled with the maximum load. The FIBC is then filled with twice its maximum load for at least five minutes. Finally, it is suspended with its SWL (Safe Working Load) for another five minutes.

  6. Stacking Test:

    • The FIBC filled with the maximum load is loaded with 1.8 times the weight permitted on top of the bag.

Classification of UN Certified FIBCs:

  • 13H1 – Uncoated woven plastics, no liner

  • 13H2 – Coated woven plastics, no liner

  • 13H3 – Uncoated woven plastics, with liner

  • 13H4 – Coated woven plastics, with liner

These classifications fall under three different categories, ensuring versatility and safety in various applications.

Versatile and Reliable Bulk Packaging:

Bulk bags are a versatile packaging option capable of transporting and storing a wide range of products and materials. Whether transporting soil, food-grade products, or hazardous materials, FIBCs offer unmatched flexibility, durability, and affordability in the bulk packaging industry.

Transporting and storing hazardous materials come with unique challenges and stricter regulations. UN Certified Bulk Bags are specially manufactured, tested, and certified to meet these stringent requirements. They are designed to safely transport and store hazardous or potentially hazardous materials, including goods at risk of fire, explosion, chemical burns, toxic contamination, or environmental damage.

Trust Six Star Bulk Bag for reliable, certified solutions that ensure the safety and compliance of your hazardous material transportation and storage needs.
